More Depuy Hip Replacement Concern

By March 10, 2010May 26th, 2022No Comments

As time elapses, more and more DePuy hip replacement devices are failing.

The New York Times reported on March 10, 2010 that DePuy recently warned doctors about the failing ASR hip implant cup. Patients with DePuy ASR and DePuy Pinnacle hip replacements have reported severe pain, unexplained rashes, hip joint swelling, and have required revision surgery due to the failing hip implant cup.

Many patients with DePuy hip replacements have no symptoms at all, but report increased unhealthy levels of Chromium and Cobalt in their bloodstreams. When one of these defective devices failures, it often causes injury or death to soft tissue within the hip. Unfortunately, these problems are very hard to correct with revision surgery.

At Reiner, Slaughter & Frankel, LLP, we have been monitoring and pursuing cases against DePuy Orthopaedics since 2009. We estimate that a very high percentage of hip replacement patients for both the ASR and Pinnacle hip systems will require revision surgery.

If you or a relative has had a hip replacement recently, it is very important that you talk to your doctor and call us. We have helped many clients through the revision surgery process. Please call us at (530) 241-0280 for more information on DePuy Hip Replacements and we will guide you through recovery process.
